Marnie Chicken – $48
Limit of 2 per household
Marnie Chicken says she hasn’t actually built a house yet, except a bee house and a gingerbread house. But she wants to help her friends with their bigger projects, especially hammer stuff and saw stuff.
Gingham Dress for Dolls – $16
Limit of 2 per household
Marnie Chicken says her everyday dress is well suited for any activity: planning projects, doing projects – basically anything project-related. Slate blue gingham with a white Peter Pan collar, cute puff sleeves, and a full gathered skirt with a ruffled hem. Velcro back closure, will fit any Hazel Village doll or animal.
Oxford Blouse for Dolls – $14
Limit of 2 per household
This periwinkle oxford cotton blouse is pleated at the collar and has cute puff sleeves. Marnie’s personal motto is stitched in red cursive along the hem: “Each project better than the last.” The inscription is sometimes hidden if she wears her blouse tucked in, but she knows it is there and it helps her feel inspired. Good thinking, Marnie! This is a versatile piece to pair with many outfits, and will fit any Hazel Village doll or animal.
Favorite Foods Celebration Skirt for Dolls – $18
Limit of 2 per household
This skirt celebrates all of Marnie Chicken’s favorite foods: corn, mulberry, lanternfly, clover, dandelion, wheat, crab apple, and grubs. Tasty! High-waisted, made from ivory cotton quilted in neat lines over a sky blue cotton lining. Trimmed in yellow floral Liberty of London cotton at the waistband, with a real shell button closure in back. Jane’s original artwork of each food is embroidered along the scalloped hem. Marnie likes to wear this skirt to festivals and tea parties – events she can be sure will have plenty of snacks, since wearing it does make her peckish. Fits any Hazel Village doll or animal.
Industrious Floral Overalls for Dolls – $16
Limit of 2 per household
A good pair of overalls is essential workwear for a project-inclined animal such as Marnie – she tells us these ones make her feel full of vim and vigor. She also likes to wear them when she is helping her friends in the garden. Cotton canvas overalls with a cheerful Rifle Paper Co. print, a boxy fit, and two patch pockets. Handmade with love in our Brooklyn workshop and will fit any Hazel Village doll or animal.
Project Smock for Dolls – $16
Limit of 2 per household
Marnie wears this handy smock to keep her clothes from getting sawdust-y when she is working. Made from lovely green-gray gingham, with two tiny matching green-gray Corozo buttons. Gathered at the yoke in front and back for a nice roomy shape. Short sleeved to allow for full range of motion – very important when building stuff. Two extra-big patch pockets are perfect for carrying sketches of Marnie’s projects, and snacks like corn for energy. Fits any Hazel Village doll or animal.
Basket Backpack for Dolls – $22
Limit of 2 per household
A sturdy and practical backpack, tightly woven from traditional palm straw. Marnie uses it to carry her favorite tools, such as her aspirational hammer (for future house-building projects) and her saw (for saw stuff). She says it would also be good for gathering wildflowers, if that is more your thing. Cotton straps offer comfy wearability, and an open top allows an animal to easily access their belongings. Handcrafted by talented artisans in Peru.
Ruffle Bloomer Overalls for Dolls – $16
Limit of 2 per household
Marnie’s best outfit for fancy occasions! Dusky lavender-blue linen, trimmed with rows of frilly ruffles and gathered in bloomer fashion at the cuffs. One-shoulder style, with a dazzling shiny brass button. Marnie has an affinity for shiny things, so when she found this button she promptly sewed it on her fanciest outfit (after giving it a few good pecks to ascertain its quality.) Velcro back closure, will fit any Hazel Village doll or animal.
Courageous Corn Cardigan for Dolls – $22
Limit of 2 per household
This sweater is, simply put, extremely chicken-y. “Natch!” says Marnie. Made from super soft baby alpaca yarn in a bright golden yellow that reminds Marnie of corn – one of her favorite foods. The yoke is knit with a loop stitch in front and back, creating a truly amazing feathery texture. Two tiny front pockets are shaped like corn kernels – and just the right size to hold one each, wouldn’t you know! Closes in front with three tiny real shell buttons, and will fit any Hazel Village friend who wishes to embody some of Marnie’s superb chicken energy. Expertly hand knit by our artisan partners in Peru.
Sensible Sun Hat for Dolls – $20
Limit of 2 per household
Marnie does a lot of projects outdoors, so she wears this sensible hat to keep the sun out of her eyes. Crocheted raffia, with a slightly pointed crown and a scalloped brim to accent the shape of Marnie’s face. A narrow grosgrain ribbon in orangey-red – “brick-colored”, according to Marnie – is woven around the brim and tied in a cute bow at the front. The perfect hat for a plucky gal! Will fit any Hazel Village doll or animal, except for toads. Handmade by talented artisans in Peru.
