On the shortest night of the year, the animals of Hazel Village gather in the Night Meadow to celebrate the Firefly Ball. They have twinkly lanterns, music, and dances throughout the night as their firefly friends gleam and glimmer around them in the warm summer air. On this hooded cloak, the Night Meadow itself is depicted in the moonlight with the glow of hundreds of fireflies. A stunning original watercolor illustration painted by our design elf Sara adorns the sweeping satin cloak, which ties at the neck in an elegant bow and is fully lined with matching shining white satin. Its fancy patch pockets are designed to honor the animals’ firefly friends – gold and verdigris brocade, wing-shaped, with hand-embroidered accent stitching. A tiny book of six songs written by Phoebe Fawn, who conducts the Hazel Village Orchestra. (Her instrument is the pan flute.) You can sing these songs, such as “The Fox in the Meadowsweet” and “Unicorn Time”, with your dolls and animals. This book is twenty pages long, and its cover is printed in glimmering gold foil on black paper.
