Our dear friend Oliver wears quite a few hats at Hazel Village – both in terms of millinery, and in terms of how busy he likes to be. If you ask the other animals, they will tell you that he is always up to some sort of industrious activity! Oliver’s main Village Duties are carrying the mail and reporting the weather. He also keeps track of important Village records, and takes great pride in serving his friends the tastiest tea.

Village Duties Hat & Patches for Dolls – $24

A highly official hat for Oliver Mouse’s Village Duties! Light blue cotton with brown corduroy hatband and brim, and a red yarn pom on top. Comes with four stupendous embroidered patches – MAIL, WEATHER, RECORDS, and TEA – which can be tucked into the hatband to indicate what sort of duty Oliver is conducting. Note that these patches are designed to be interchangeable, so they do not have an iron-on backing. Original patch artwork by our design elf Sara. Hat handmade by our artisan partners in Colombia.
Village Duties Jacket for Dolls – $16

This is Oliver Mouse’s go-to jacket for conducting important Village Duties. (The crest on the right shoulder makes him feel extra official.) Village Duties Suspender Shorts for Dolls – $14

Oliver Mouse wears these suspender shorts under his jacket for important Village Duties, but they also look quite cute on their own or paired with any sort of shirt. Light blue cotton shorts with a puffy bloomer shape and cross-back suspender straps. Dark brown corduroy trim on the cuffs accents Oliver’s matching jacket. Velcro back closure. Mailbox for Dolls – $22

When a resident of Hazel Village has a letter to post, they take it to the Lodge and drop it in the mailbox out front. Oliver Mouse checks the box every day before setting off on his mail route. One might ask why the Village has a mail carrier, since everyone lives pretty close together. You see, all the animals enjoy the fun of corresponding by mail, and Oliver really likes delivering letters. So it works out rather well.
This tiny functional mailbox was sustainably handmade in Nepal from traditional Lokta paper. It is printed in red ink with the charming artwork of our design elf Sara. Measures approximately 3”x2”x4”.
Mail Bag for Dolls – $14

Oliver Mouse takes his responsibility as mail carrier quite seriously, so he has a sturdy bag to transport his friends’ letters from the Lodge mailbox to their homes. This messenger bag is made of ivory cotton canvas, with a twill tape shoulder strap for cross-body wear. The flap has no clasp, so Oliver can easily lift it to reach in for a letter. It is screenprinted in inky blue with our founder Jane’s original artwork of a pigeon, a snail, a star, and a whirlybird seed. Handmade by our artisan partners in Colombia.
Formal Capacities Sash for Dolls – $14

This peacock blue taffeta sash indicates that Oliver Mouse is conducting FORMAL CAPACITIES. Quite practical, as it can be carried in his bag and worn over any outfit in case the need should arise. Sash is hand-embroidered with white lettering and a leafy green accent at the buttonhole. The coral pink custom Corozo button is engraved with a dahlia, Oliver’s favorite flower. Inclement Weather Coat for Dolls – $20

Each morning, Oliver Mouse studies the atmospheric conditions in Hazel Village and hoists the proper Weather Flags up the flagpole of the Lodge. The choices of flag are: Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy, Snowy, Lightning, Windy, Hot, Warm, Just Right, Cool, and Cold.
This excellent coat keeps Oliver well protected in case of inclement weather. It is made from stormy gray and black wool in a classic herringbone weave. There are two big patch pockets, two offset shell buttons (stitched on with red accent thread), and a deep hood with a wide brim to shield Oliver’s head from rain. The red cotton tassel is a charming adornment which also functions as a wind indicator – if the other animals look out their windows on blustery days and see Oliver wearing his coat, the tassel will tell them whether it is perfect kite-flying weather or perhaps better to stay indoors. Carrier Pigeon Sweatshirt for Dolls – $14

Oliver Mouse likes to wear this cozy sweatshirt when he is feeling relaxed, such as at teatime. It also comes in handy on chilly days for layering under his jacket. Ringer-style long-sleeved pullover made from white cotton knit, trimmed in bright blue at the collar and cuffs.
