Tasty Mushrooms Sweater for Dolls – $24

All the animals know that only a professional foraging expert, like Annicke Mouse, should be consulted on the subject of which mushrooms are good for eating. This cozy sweater features three varieties which are known to be quite tasty: button mushrooms, portobello mushrooms, and chanterelles. Made from the softest baby alpaca yarn in yellow ochre, with a knit button closure at the back collar. Handmade by our artisan partners in Peru.

Chicken of the Woods Dress – $18

Inspired by a well-named mushroom which can often be found growing on fallen logs and dying trees. Much like its namesake, this dress has a beautiful gradient of sunset colors. Its custom-made cotton fabric was yarn-dyed and hand-loomed in the traditional ikat style. Long puffy sleeves, gathered skirt, velcro back closure. Handmade by our artisan partners in India.

Mini Truffle Pig – $18

This mini pig dolly is an excellent companion for mushroom-foraging hikes. The animals have named her after a beloved figure of Hazel Village legend: Bluebell, Hero Pig of Yesteryear, Master Truffler, Keen of Snout. They say you can call her just Bluebell for short. Bluebell is made of pale pink organic cotton fleece and has cocoa brown spots, a linen snout, and a tiny braided tail. Handmade by our artisan partners in Cambodia.

Spotted Mushroom Beret for Dolls – $20

If an animal wearing this hat were to sit very still alongside a woodland trail and think mushroom-y thoughts, a passerby might just mistake them for a real amanita muscaria*. (Lucy Owl says that is the scholarly name for this kind of mushroom.) Knit from merino wool yarn in an earthy red color with scattered white spots. Has a nice slouchy fit, a wide rib knit brim, and thoughtful ear holes. Handmade by our artisan partners in Nepal.

*Lucy Owl also notes that this type of mushroom, though pretty to look at, is NOT SAFE TO EAT. Good advice, Lucy!

Toadstool Backpack for Dolls – $20

This backpack is just like if you plucked a toadstool from the earthy forest floor and wore it on your back – only fuzzier, and more practical. It is made from white and red wool felt and has hand-embroidered spots on its cap. Can carry an extra sweater and some snacks, or a mini animal dolly for company. Fastens with a braided loop and real shell button. The shoulder straps are twisted cotton cord in autumnal tones, with accent tassels on the ends. Handcrafted by our artisan partners in Nepal.

Fireside Socks for Dolls – $14

Barrel Pants for Dolls – $12

Emma Rabbit, who likes to keep her friends apprised of woodland fashion trends, has declared that barrel-shaped pants are in vogue. Some of the animals weren’t quite sure of how to style them, but Emma says that boldness goes with everything. These pants are made of light blue linen, sculpturally sewn to create a rounded silhouette. Velcro back closure. Handmade by our artisan partners in Cambodia.

Cold Weather Coat for Dolls – $20

Front closure with two real shell buttons. Handmade by our artisan partners in Cambodia.

Juneberry Jam Dress for Dolls – $18

Every summer, Annicke Mouse gathers baskets of juneberries to share with her friends. The animals eat about half of their berry bounty fresh, and make the rest into a big batch of jam to be stocked on pantry shelves for the winter. This jam-colored dress is made from lightweight woven cotton, block-printed by hand with our original juneberry motif. This batch of fabric was printed during the rainy season in India, which gives the design a charming rustic quality. Dress has long sleeves, a ruffled hem, and a white collar with lacy trim. Velcro back closure. Handmade by our artisan partners in India.

Chestnut Checkered Shirt for Dolls – $14

Reginald Fox says this rustic shirt is well suited for a crisp autumn day spent harvesting squash. Then in winter, when it is too cold to garden, it is cozy for him to wear while working on his novel. This custom-made cotton fabric was yarn-dyed and hand-loomed in the traditional ikat style, creating a blurry checkered effect that we think is quite nice. Long sleeves, classic collar, front velcro closure. Handmade by our artisan partners in India.

An autumnal scene of the Hazel Village Lodge, artfully depicted in sweater form! The Lodge is the animals’ main gathering place for feasts, major tea parties, and elaborate projects. Linden Leaf Overalls for Dolls – $12

Perhaps the quintessential piece of Hazel Village attire! Deep green  overalls with short legs, velcro back closure, and an overlap in the back where an animal's tail can stick out. There is a handy pocket on the bib to hold what Emma Rabbit calls "the niceties." She says "niceties" are if you find trinkets or snacks that you think are nice, and you want to keep them close. These excellent overalls were handmade by our artisan partners in Colombia.

This item is replacing the Forest Green Picnic Overalls.
