    Sweet, simple book

    To be honest - I fully wanted to buy this book for selfish reasons. The art looked so sweet and I imagined the story would be as whimsical as what I knew about the villagers already. But I bought it for my daughter’s third birthday. I think the story is maybe a little too simple - there could be more to it, more words, longer, etc. it’s very pretty to look at, and I love the idea behind homemade gift giftgiving for friends, but I think she was prepared to hear more. Apart from the shorter storyline, I did really enjoy the quality of the book, the aesthetic, and the beautiful illustrations. I will be looking forward to Reginald Fox’s book coming out in the summer. I just hope there is a little more to it.
