CYRIL DRAGON will be touching down at Hazel Village on Tuesday, October 29th at 1PM ET! We are incredibly excited to introduce you to this utterly magical limited-edition friend!

 

Cyril will be bringing along 8 of his favorite items of doll clothing and accessories. There is a launch-day purchase limit of ONE per household for this collection, which will be lifted after 24 hours. We feel pretty well stocked for this launch and we hope things won't sell out too fast, but we decided to set a limit of one to be safe just in case you surprise us ♥️

In a cloud of smoke and mist, with a “Whoosh!” and a hiss of steam, CYRIL DRAGON alights upon the Hazel Village sledding hill. The woodland friends bring him welcome gifts of tiny posies and a silver spoon that they found in the forest. Cyril declares, “These treasures will be perfect for my hoard. Thank you, friends!”

 

Cyril Dragon is handmade from organic cotton fleece. His wings, ear linings, and the spikes on his head and tail are made from a very special fabric which was locally hand dyed and hand loomed by a weaver in Kathmandu that we love to work with. Dark red cotton is woven together with glimmering golden thread, twisting to create beautiful random patterns as the textile comes to life. The result is a stunning fabric that shimmers with magic, but is still soft and cuddly.

 

Cyril is 13” tall, suitable for all ages, and will arrive at your home swaddled in our complimentary gift wrap. If your dragon gets a little grubby, we recommend spot cleaning first and gently hand washing if necessary. Machine washing is not recommended for Cyril, because his fancy wings require a little bit of extra care.

 

 

 

Cyril Dragon has a knack for making excellent campfires – just the right size and toasty warm, they are perfect for cooking golden-brown campfire bread. Once the fire has died down, Cyril likes to sit around the softly glowing coals with his friends and tell stories of his adventures. The print on Cyril’s favorite play suit is reminiscent of the bright embers and flickering sparks from these cozy campfire nights.

 

This cotton romper is short-sleeved to accommodate Cyril’s wings, and features a generous white ruff at the neck. With velcro back closure and a thoughtful tail hole, it could also be worn by any of Cyril’s friends. Screen-printed with red and gold ink, and handmade by our artisan partners in Colombia. Cyril loves these scale pants because they make him feel tough and shiny – excellent qualities for a dragon – without hindering his cuddliness. Ideal! They are made from rust-colored cotton and screen-printed in gold foil with our original scale print. An elastic waistband and gathered cuffs give these pants a cute puffy shape. They have a thoughtful tail hole and back velcro closure, and will fit any Hazel Village friend. Handmade by our artisan partners in Colombia.

 

Cyril Dragon’s cozy sweater is decorated with trinkets and treasures from his hoard: a bouquet of posies, half a walnut shell, a golden fish hook, a ribbon, a raspberry, and an eggshell. This dark brown pullover has a special two-button bib on the back, with openings on either side so Cyril’s wings can stick out. It is also embroidered with metallic gold accents for an extra magical touch. Hand knit by our talented artisan partners in Peru from soft baby alpaca yarn, and may be worn by any Hazel Village doll or animal.

 

 

 

 

 

Although Cyril Dragon is pretty good at keeping himself toasty, he still appreciates a nice warm cloak for traveling through chilly winds and falling snow. This one is made from deep plum-colored wool and lined in glimmering dark gold satin. Equipped with slits for Cyril’s wings and arms, so he has full flight mobility. The wide collar comes to a high peak in back, and closes with a crystal button that Cyril found on his travels. Really it is faux-crystal, but Cyril says he doesn’t mind because it is still sparkly. Although Cyril Dragon thinks of his hoard as quite vast, it is actually small enough to mostly fit inside this satchel. Cyril finds new treasures frequently, but since he gives them away just as often as he keeps them, his collection stays at a manageable size. This satchel has antique brass hardware, a functioning buckle, and a cross-body carrying strap, so Cyril can wear it comfortably while he flies. It is handmade by our artisan partners in Colombia from natural colored leather. Its dark brown tone comes from a water-based treatment that the artisans rub on by hand, resulting in charmingly rustic natural variation.

 

 

 

 

 

Cyril Dragon believes that one’s personal attire can be both glamorous and cozy (a fact that the Villagers know quite well). Cyril’s majestic bonnet is made of gold lamé fabric that catches the light, shining and shimmering in most dragon-y fashion. Its striking high peak is accented by red silk tassels, and red silk trim along the bottom ties in a bow under the chin. Quilted neatly over a natural cotton lining for a lovely plush effect, it can also be worn by any of Cyril’s friends. Handmade by our artisan partners in Cambodia.

 

 

 

These trinket dollies are perhaps the most prized treasures in Cyril Dragon’s hoard. He has collected them from far and wide on his many adventures, and tells us they are the perfect traveling companions (and good for snuggling as well). There is a salamander, a cat, a beetle, a duck, a horse, a mouse, and a rabbit; each as tiny as tiny can be! You will receive one of each animal in this seven piece set. Handmade by artisans in India from recycled sari textiles, these jewel-toned trinket dollies are all unique – the precise colors and patterns of your creatures will be a mystery until you receive them. How very exciting!

 

 

 

Fireweed is Cyril Dragon’s favorite plant, and also happens to be one of his favorite foods. He says there is no tastier breakfast than fireweed honey on toast! Red fireweed blossoms made from hand-loomed silk form the buttonholes of this vest, closing in front with two real shell buttons. Seven golden-yellow silk pockets encircle its hem, enabling Cyril to carry all seven of his trinket dollies at once. Very practical! These pockets could also carry lots of other tiny treasures, such as foraged acorns or special pebbles. The vest itself is made from sturdy white cotton canvas with a high collar.
