The Puppet Theater Collection will be live on our site this Wednesday, August 21st at 1PM ET!
The woodland friends of Hazel Village love making puppets and giving theatrical performances. Often Lucy Owl or Reginald Fox will write a script, and the other animals will rehearse for a few days before the performance. Other times they will put on a more impromptu show and simply improvise while imagining themselves as their character. Both approaches are quite exciting!
This collection includes a stupendous puppet theater play set, and four embroidered wool felt puppets inspired by characters of Hazel Village legend. There is a launch-day purchase limit of 2 per household for the theater set as well as for each puppet.

The animals of Hazel Village are wonderful storytellers and love performing plays in their puppet theater! We wonder what tales they will tell today? Perhaps a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas; a rainbow-chasing hot air balloon voyage in the skies; or a quest through the forest to find the fabled magic acorn…
This theater was sustainably handcrafted in Nepal from traditional Lokta paper, and has a beautiful shimmery floral print in tones of green and gold. The process of making Lokta paper goods is still practiced today the same way it has been for thousands of years – each step done by hand, and using all natural materials. How marvelous!
Puppet Theater Set includes:
- 2-piece collapsible tabletop puppet theater, handmade in Nepal. Theater measures 16” tall, 7.5” wide, and 8.5” deep when assembled, and includes an instructional set-up guide.
- 3 fabric scenic backdrops featuring design elf Sara’s original watercolor paintings; handmade in Colombia.
- A pine wood dowel for hanging backdrops; hand-carved in Nepal.
- A woven cotton storage bag with drawstring closure, handmade in Colombia and screen-printed with the Hazel Village Puppet Theater logo.
Puppet Theater Set is recommended for ages 6+. Puppets are not included in this set and must be purchased separately.

This puppet is designed to be worn over the paws of the Hazel Village animals, but can also function as a finger puppet if you yourself would like to perform. Handmade in Nepal from wool felt, and hand-embroidered with charming details.
Princess Peaseblossom Puppet for Dolls – $10

A magical princess of the forest, Peaseblossom Unicorn appears from the soft mist amidst the twinkling of fireflies. Her loveliness and generosity is known far and wide!

Pirate Bunny Puppet for Dolls – $10

A favorite villainous cautionary tale around Hazel Village – so the legend goes, this pirate bunny got lots of nuts and acorns from the forest but DID NOT SHARE THEM! Thus history remembers him as Fluffy, the Non-Sharing Bunny.

Scary Tiger Puppet for Dolls – $10

If you are skipping through the forest and hear a growl from behind a bush, you are likely about to encounter the Scary Tiger. Fear not – once you have offered her a warm chocolate-chip cookie, you will find she is not so scary after all. Perhaps she may even tell you her name!
