Garden Treasures

Friends, we are absolutely thrilled to share this very exciting collection with you! It includes our brand new storybook, Garden Treasures; our beloved friend Reginald Fox's new design; and five items of Reginald's special gardening attire. This collection will go live on our site on Wednesday, August 26th at 1 PM ET!
Both Garden Treasures and updated Reginald are permanent additions to our evergreen collection of items, so there will be no purchase limit for them. Reginald's 5 items of doll clothing are limited edition and have an automatic purchase limit of 1 per household, which will lift 24 hours after launch.

Much like Reginald Fox tends the Village Garden and appreciates its treasures, we want to do our part to care for the earth and share in its bounty! 10% of our sitewide sales on 8/26 will be donated to Brooklyn Rewilders to support their fledgling Fences of Abundance program, which you can learn about here.
Brooklyn Rewilders reconnects children and communities to the living world through ecological education in schools and native food hedges on Brooklyn's fence lines, rooted in the belief that we are not visitors to the natural world, but part of it. We think Reginald would certainly approve!

Garden Treasures Book – $18
Written by Hazel Village founder Jane Van Cleef and illustrated by Jane Van Cleef and Sara Tanikawa, Garden Treasures stars Reginald Fox and features many Hazel Village animal friends. Hard cover with leafy green cloth spine and gold foil lettering. 36 pages. 7.125”x 8.75”. Ideal for ages 4-8.
Reginald Fox spends a spring day tending to the Hazel Village garden, appreciating its many treasures, and sharing said treasures with his friends. What will Reginald do about the snails in the kale? Which of his friends will help him with Strawberry Time? And what will he find waiting when he scampers home in the dark and crickety night?

Reginald Fox – $52
Reginald is a creature of habit: every morning he tends his market garden. He has a shiny blue watering can, and a shiny red bucket for any slugs he finds. When he is done for the day he carries the slug bucket to the forest edge, and lets his slug friends go. After lunch, he rows his boat into the pond and drops anchor in a shady spot, where he naps and thinks about his novel.
Reginald's new look features a redesigned face, brown tipped ears, a brown tipped tail, and a full white tummy.
Reginald's default outfit on our site will be his Gardening Shirt and Navy Overalls.

Here are Flora, Reginald, and Owen Fox, all with their new permanent designs! 🦊♥️

Gardening Shirt for Dolls – $14
Limit of 1 per household
A comfy and practical work shirt made from ivory cotton with a forest green windowpane check. Its curved hem is cut high on the sides and accented with golden-brown stitching, to match the thread of its two real shell buttons. Handmade by our artisan partners in Nepal.

Navy Overalls for Dolls – $16
Limit of 1 per household
These are Reginald Fox’s favorite gardening overalls, and therefore his most worn outfit. Navy blue cotton blend, full length, with patch pockets on the hips and a real shell button closure in back. Handmade by our artisan partners in Cambodia.

Village Garden Neckerchief for Dolls – $10
Limit of 1 per household
Reginald Fox’s neckerchief features a paisley-inspired print of charming details from the Village garden. This 9.5” square bandana can also be worn as a headscarf, a cape, or a sling for carrying a mini animal. White cotton screenprinted in dark blue ink with our original artwork. Handmade by our artisan partners in Colombia.

Openwork Straw Hat for Dolls – $22
Limit of 1 per household
We think this is the animals’ best straw hat yet! Its ear holes are placed towards the front for a more comfortable fit, and if an animal with low ears or no ears wants to wear it, they can simply turn it around to hide the openings. The twisted cotton cord has an adjustable wooden bead to keep this hat snug on any Villager’s head. Handwoven from palm straw by our artisan partners in Peru.

Snails in the Kale Vest for Dolls – $16
Limit of 1 per household
Reginald dons this vest for luncheon with Lewis Toad and Gwendolyn Raccoon in Garden Treasures. Its beautiful custom woven fabric was naturally dyed with mango leaves to achieve an earthy green hue. It has two patch pockets, real shell buttons, and hand stitched buttonholes. Handmade by our artisan partners in Cambodia.
