This magnificent costume is the pièce de résistance of the Turtle Parade! The upper shell is made from teal green corduroy, sewn in scale-like shapes (called scutes) just like on a real turtle. The under shell is natural-colored linen, accented by hand-stitched lines of mossy green embroidery. There is a spring green linen hood and a matching tiny tail, the better to make the wearer feel truly turtle-ified.
