Written and illustrated by Hazel Village founder Jane Van Cleef, The Gifts of the Year stars Gwendolyn Raccoon but includes all the Hazel Village animal friends. Hard cover with gold foil lettering, 32 pages, printed in full color on heavy, cream colored, recycled paper. 7.125”x 8.25”. Ideal for ages 3-8. 

Gwendolyn Raccoon and her woodland animal friends enjoy every season in Hazel Village. They celebrate holidays; harvest the treasures of field and forest; and make nice presents for their friends.     Such a cute story.

    While the story is mostly about Gwendolyn, it’s a story about giving and caring. Throughout the book, all other Villagers appear in the background.

    The SWEETEST!

    I love the quality of this book, from the outside cover to all the precious illustrations inside. The story focuses on giving handmade gifts throughout the year, not just on certain days, which I find refreshing. It’s something I grew up doing and have always encouraged my children to do the same. Thanks so much, Hazel Village, for another beautiful addition to my collection!

    Beautiful Illustrations

    I am very happy with our Gifts of the Year book purchase. Jane's watercolor illustrations are beautiful and charming! I am hoping that she will do a follow-up book, featuring the limited edition animals that have visited Hazel Village in the past.
